Attractive antique Edwardian Harris Lebus Arts & Crafts carved oak bureau bookcase desk.
A lovely antique Edwardian oak bureau bookcase. We date this bureau bookcase to the early 20th century. The lock has the Harris Lebus "H L L" stamp.
The bureau bookcase consists of a drop front writing section over two open book shelves.
The bureau bookcase sits on it's end panels which have cut out sections in the base to form shapely bracket feet.
The top surface has a decorative arch top gallery which features decorative pierced detail.
The front flap is fitted with a working lock (key supplied).
The drop front lowers to provide the writing surface.
The interior is fitted with numerous horizontal and vertical pigeon holes.
The bureau bookcase has a height of 46" (117cm), a width of 33" (84cm) and a depth of 10" (26cm).
This lovely Edwardian oak bureau bookcase remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage, primarily some wear and usage marks to the top surface and shelves. There is also a small amount of wear around the bottom of the legs and one of the small turned buttons covering a screw on the side is missing. The gallery has a small piece of wood missing from the lower left hand front corner.
This remains a very stylish and elegant antique Edwardian Arts & Crafts oak bureau bookcase. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
