Description
A lovely antique decoupage screen. We date this screen to the late 19th century.The screen consists of four folding sections. Each section consists of mahogany framed panels that have been lovingly covered on both sides. One side has brightly coloured scraps of flowers, vegetables and fruit. The other side has various large and small Victorian scenes.
Each end has a brass handle to aid opening.
Each section is 66.5" (169cm) high by 19.5" (49cm) wide giving an overall width of 78” (198cm).
This lovely Victorian screen remains in a good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are some indentations and wear marks around the frame edge and one of the hinge areas has been repaired at some time in the past. There is a small tear on one scene, above the bull horns.
This remains a stylish and elegant screen which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
