Description
A lovely carved oak mirror door wardrobe. We date this wardrobe to the early 20th century.The wardrobe comes in three sections, the main hanging section, base drawer section and separate cornice.
The wardrobe sits on bracket feet and has a stepped cornice.
The front of the wardrobe is of a three panel design with the side panels having attractive carvings. The central door panel has a bevel edged oval mirrored door and is fitted with an attractive drop handle mounted on a decorative backplate. The handle turns to operate the catch and is fitted with a lock (key is supplied).
The interior of the hanging section is fitted with two front to back hanging rails and four clothes hooks along the back.
The base of the wardrobe houses one deep drawer fitted with metal drop handles mounted on decorative backplates.
The wardrobe has a height of 146cm, width of 119cm, and a depth of 47cm.
This lovely mirror door wardrobe remains in very good solid condition with minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is a piece of moulding missing on the right hand side at the bottom and repairs to moulding on the left hand side. Slight bit of mellowing to right hand panel.
This remains a very stylish and elegant mirror door wardrobe which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
