A lovely antique Victorian silver chest. We date this chest to the mid 19th century.

The chest comprises of a large rear hinged lidded brass bound box mounted on ball castors.

The brass bound rear hinged lid is fitted with a lock (key supplied) and has internal brass stays. There is an unengraved brass shield to the top centre of the lid.

The chest is fitted with a pair of beautifully twisted brass handles at each side with brass bindings on the edges.

The internal silver storage sections have been removed at some time in the past and red felt has been added inside the lid.

There is a brass plaque inside the chest for ‘Elkington & Co, Silversmiths, 22 Regent Street, London’.

The brass lock is stamped ‘Hobbs & Co, London’.

The chest has a height of 29.5" (75cm), with a width of 33" (84cm) and a depth of 24.5" (62cm).

This lovely chest remains in very good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is a tiny age split to the top of the lid and a small minor lift to the left hand side of the lid as can be seen in the pictures.

This remains a very stylish and functional chest which would function well as a toy storage box linen chest etc. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.

A lovely antique walnut bureau. We date this bureau to the late 19th century.

The bureau comes in one main section and sits on four ornate bracket feet.

The drop flap is fitted with a lock (key supplied) and lowers to reveal the fitted interior, which consists of various pigeon holes, small drawers and a drop well. The drop flap has a cross banding veneer and is supported by two pull out lopers, one at each side that are fitted with brass button handles.

The main lower section has three wide graduated drawers. The drawers are fitted with brass drop handles mounted on shapely backplates.

The bureau has a height of 39" (99cm), a width of 30" (77cm) and a depth of 18" (46cm).

This lovely bureau remains in very good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage, including some minor veneer bubbling to the side panels. The drop flap has some light indentation marks and the fitted interior has some darker marks. There is a little bit of wear to some of the rear edges.

This remains a simple yet stylish and elegant bureau. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.

Stunning Very Large Antique Victorian Carved Mahogany ...

A beautiful large Victorian carved mahogany sideboard. We date this sideboard to the mid 19th century.

The sideboard is supplied in various sections, the two pedestals, the long top and gallery section, the plinth base and the central panel. The sections are screwed together.

The sideboard is of a twin pedestal design, with each pedestal being a side hinged door cupboard. The pedestals and central back panel each sit on a slightly protruding plain plinth base.

The gallery has been profusely carved throughout and features a central fruit and foliate carved moulding within a shell design. The doors have a central shield within an acanthus leaf carved blind fretwork frame.

The top section is fitted with three wide drawers, these are fitted with bun handles and are fitted with locks (key is supplied).

The interior of the left hand cupboard is fitted with a top linen press style drawer. The right hand pedestal is fitted with a top linen press drawer over a very substantial bottle drawer. The pedestals are fitted with locks (no key is supplied for them but the doors stay firmly shut).

The sideboard has an overall height of 58" (147cm), a main top surface height of 36" (92cm), a width of 91" (231cm) and a depth of 27" (69cm).

This attractive Victorian mahogany sideboard remains in very good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There are some minor indentations, marks and light wear to the top surface and some of the edges. One of the small carved panels is missing from the outer right hand side at the rear and there is a bit of wear to the plinth base.

A lovely antique cabinet. We date this cabinet to the mid 19th century.

The cabinet sits on four recessed castors and is supplied in one main piece, please be aware regarding access etc.

The cabinet consists of a small hinged glass display case with a sunken baize lined dropwell to the table top. The main cabinet has a small drawer at each side of a panel with the right hand side drawer being half the depth. The drawers are fitted with heavy drop handles mounted on large decorative backplates. Below there are two side hinged panel doors.

The interior is fitted with five linen press style drawers lined with green baize and are fitted with brass campaign handles.

The drawers each have a plaque labelled with different musical categories. The right hand door has a lock (no key is supplied but one could be obtained if required). The handle turns to operate the catch.

The cabinet is likely to have formally been a phonograph cabinet or similar, the right hand side has an opening for the winding handle but all the internal components have been removed at some point long ago.

The cabinet has an overall height of 53" (135cm), a main surface height of 43" (110cm), a width of 47" (120cm) and a depth of 26" (66cm).

The display case internal measurements height 11.5” (29cm), the sunken area has a width of 14” (35cm) and a depth of 8.5” (22cm).

This lovely Victorian cabinet remains in good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage, including a number of minor indentations and marks to the finish. There are some scratches to the finish primarily to the table top and minor indents to some edges. There is some mellowing to the finish on the right hand side and the rear.

This remains a stylish and elegant cabinet that would function well as a great little display cabinet / filing cabinet. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.

The wardrobe sits on four square section legs with spade feet. The wardrobe has a stepped cornice with a band of dental work moulding. The doors have attractive recessed panels.

The interior of the wardrobe has two front to back hanging rails and a mirror on the interior of the right hand door.

The right hand door is fitted with a lock (no key is supplied but one could be obtained if required). The right hand door is also fitted with a decorative brass drop handle mounted on a decorative backplate, this turns to operate the catch. The left hand door has a top and bottom catch.

The base section has one large deep drawer fitted with two swan neck handles mounted on decorative oval backplates.

The wardrobe has a height of 80.5" (205cm), a cornice width of 51" (130cm) and a cornice depth of 22.5" (57cm).

The wardrobe has an internal hanging depth of 18.5” (47cm).

This lovely wardrobe remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is a little bit of wear around some edges and the base from past use. There are some slight scratches to the finish primarily to the top of the outer right hand side panel. The internal mirror has some minor foxing.

A lovely very large oriental cabinet. We date this cabinet to the early 21st century.

The cabinet is supplied in five sections; a drawer base, a main back panel, a top cornice and the two side panels that include the hinged doors.

The cabinet has recently been used as a TV cabinet, one of the shelves had been moved to do this but can be reset to suit the new owner.

The cabinet sits on four sturdy ornately carved ball and claw feet with cabriole legs with carved knees. The base has a shapely carved apron that splays out. The cornice has a dome shaped top.

The cabinet is very rustic in its style, the interior is fitted with two full width wooden shelves. The right hand door is fitted with a circular drop handle with a star shaped backplate, the left hand door has internal top and bottom bolts.

There are two carved drawers with matching handles within the base section.

The cabinet has an overall height of 90" (229cm), a base width of 65" (165cm) and a depth including the front splayed apron of 32" (81cm).

This lovely oriental cabinet remains in good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage, including a number of minor indentations and marks to the finish. The interior back panel has wire holes cut out at both bottom corners. One shelf has been cut with one hole while the other has two holes.

The central gong is suspended from a hook and is supplied with a large beater with a fabric covered padded head.

A lovely large oriental room divider. We date this screen to the mid 20th century.

The screen sits on four castors to aid movement.

The screen consists of two folding panels, each panel has an ornate design to each side. The screen panels have a wooden frame with an arched top.

One side has a red lacquered border with flowers around the edge. The centre is black lacquered with stunning shell carvings of foliage and birds. The reverse side has a red lacquered finish with a painted foliate and bird scene.

The lower sections of the screens have ornately carved panels.

Each section is 72.5" (185cm) high by 33.5" (85cm) wide giving an overall width of 67” (170cm) when fully opened.

This lovely screen remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is a small flower missing from the carvings on one side and there is a slight bow to on of the sections as can be seen in the pictures.

The chairs sit on downward tapered legs at the front and rear with side stretchers. The chair seat pads and backrests are upholstered in a gold coloured velour material with button detail.

The table has a height of 28.5 (73cm), a length of 64” (163cm), a depth of 42” (107cm) and an extended length of 82” (208cm).

A lovely mahogany bookcase cabinet from the Charles Barr furniture range. We date this bookcase cabinet to the late 20th century.

The bookcase cabinet comes in two sections, the bookcase top and the cabinet base.

The base cabinet sits on a slightly protruding breakfront base with bracket feet. The bookcase top sits firmly on the base cabinet.

The bookcase is fitted with an integral breakfront stepped cornice with carved detail round the base of the cornice.

The front of the bookcase is of four panel design with each panel being a side hinged door. The two centre doors stand proud of the outer doors forming the breakfront. The doors are glazed with glass panes housed in wood glazing strips forming an attractive geometric pattern.

The two outer doors and the right hand central door are provided with working locks (keys supplied). The left hand central door is secured with back mounted top and bottom lever bolts.

The interiors of the two outer sections and the large central section are fitted with three height adjustable wooden shelves which sit on metal pegs housed in a series of holes in the side panels.

The base cabinet sits flush with the top bookcase. The front of the cabinet is of a four panel design with each panel being a side hinged door. The two central doors protrude beyond the side doors forming the breakfront. The door fronts have been veneered with well matched finely figured grain mahogany.

The two outer doors and the right hand central door are provided with working locks (keys supplied). The left hand central door is secured with a back mounted top lever bolt.

The two outer cupboards and the large central cupboard are each fitted with an adjustable wooden shelf.

There are four drawers that sit just above the base cupboard doors and are fitted ring handles on circular backplates.

The bookcase cabinet has an overall height of 84.5" (215cm), a cornice width of 60" (153cm) and a depth of 15.5" (40cm) at its deepest.

This lovely mahogany bookcase cabinet, like all Charles Barr furniture, has been constructed to a very high standard and remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage.

A lovely antique oak cheval mirror. We date this mirror to the early 20th century.

The mirror consists of a large oval mirror, supported on an attractive frame.

The frame sits on shapely arched legs, supported by a horizontal cross rail below the mirror. The mirror supports rise from the legs to support the mirror at either side with brass catches to fix the mirror in position. The side supports have attractive finials to top and bottom.

The mirror has an overall height of 69" (175cm), a width of 24.5" (62cm) and a base depth of 19" (48cm).

This lovely cheval mirror remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. The frame and mirror edge have a few minor indented areas from past use.

This remains a very stylish and elegant cheval mirror which will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
