Description
A sturdy extending dining table and chair set from the Mcintosh furniture range. We date this table and chair set to the 1960s/70’s. There is a plaque for McIntosh on the underside of the extension leaves.The table leaves are able to be pulled apart to allow one or two internal extending leaves to be folded out.
The table has a height of 74cm, a length of 160cm and a depth of 92cm. When fully opened the length increases to 235cm.
The chairs sit on downward tapered legs with the backrest having horizontal spars. The seat pads are upholstered in a brown vinyl fabric.
The chairs are 92cm high with a backrest height of 47cm, a seat height of 48cm, a seat width of 50cm and a seat depth of 43cm.
This McIntosh dining table and chair set has been constructed to a high standard and remains overall in a solid condition. There are areas of heavy wear to the finish in particular the top table surface. The chairs have surface marks to finish from past usage and some tears to the vinyl fabric as can be seen in the pictures.
Although the table and chairs are usable as is, they would provide an ideal restoration project for someone with the requisite skills.
