attractive high quality large antique style mahogany breakfront display cabinet

Description

A good quality mahogany bookcase cabinet. We date this bookcase cabinet to the late 20th century.
The display cabinet comes in two sections, the glazed top with internal lights and the cabinet base.
The base cabinet sits on a slightly protruding breakfront base with bracket feet.
The cabinet is fitted with an integral breakfront stepped cornice with carved detail round the base of the cornice.
The front of the cabinet is of four panel design with each panel being a side hinged door. The two centre doors stand proud of the outer doors forming the breakfront. The doors are glazed with glass panes housed in wood glazing strips forming an attractive geometric pattern.
The two outer doors and the right hand central door are provided with working locks (keys supplied). The left hand central door is secured with back mounted top and bottom lever bolts.
The interiors of the two outer sections and the large central section are fitted with internal lights and three height adjustable glass shelves which sit on metal pegs housed in a series of holes in the side panels.
The base cabinet sits flush with the top bookcase. The front of the cabinet is of a four panel design with each panel being a side hinged door. The two central doors protrude beyond the side doors forming the breakfront. The door front panels have been veneered with well matched finely figured grain mahogany.
The two outer doors and the right hand central door are provided with working locks (keys supplied). The left hand central door is secured with a back mounted top lever bolt.
The two outer cupboards and the large central cupboard are each fitted with an adjustable wooden shelf.
The bookcase cabinet has an overall height of 200cm, a cornice width of 150cm, a width at the base of 147cm and a depth of 39cm at its deepest.
This lovely mahogany display cabinet has been constructed to a very high standard and remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. There is a small chip on the corner of one of the glass shelves.
This remains a very stylish and elegant mahogany display cabinet and will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
