Attractive Antique Georgian John Broadwood & Sons ...

Item Ref

Attractive antique rosewood John Broadwood & Sons cabinet piano.

A lovely antique rosewood cabinet piano. We date this piano to around the 1830s. There is a plaque above the keys for "John Broadwood & Sons, makers to his majesty and the princesses, London".

The piano sits on downward tapered reeded and turned legs over brass castors to the front.

The piano has been well veneered throughout with rosewood and is in a good working order. It would benefit from a tune up but all the keys are in a working order.

The piano has an overall height of 73" (186cm), a width of 50" (127cm) and a depth of 25" (64cm).

This lovely rosewood piano remains in a good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage, including some minor indentations from past use. There is a lighter mark to the material and there is a little bit of wear to the top of the carved moulding above the columns with a couple of small edge pieces missing.

This remains a very stylish and elegant cabinet piano which will continue to provide sterling service for many years to come.
